We wish to congratulate our students today after the release of A level results. Well over a quarter of grades students received were either A*-A, with over 50% of grades awarded being A*-B.
This reflects the talent, commitment and resilience students showed over two years, especially with the disruption to their learning caused by the Pandemic. We were delighted to see that the vast majority of our students who have applied to university have secured their place to study the course of their choice. Over 20% of our students will be going on to study at the most selective universities in the country, such as UCL, Warwick, Durham & Manchester. It is also encouraging to see such a diverse number of subjects that our students have chosen to pursue, such as aeronautics, economics , fine art and music production, demonstrating the wide curricular offer at Haydon Sixth Form. We are also thrilled at how successful other students have been in securing highly competitive apprenticeship places with organisations such as the Metropolitan police, HM Border Force & Civil service. We wish all of departing students the very best wishes for their bright futures.
