On behalf of the students and staff, I'd like to welcome you to our school. I am incredibly proud of our learning environment, our high standards, and the amazing achievements of our students and staff.
Our vision is Achieving Individual Excellence in a Caring Community. We believe every student can become an exceptional learner and achieve success through perseverance. This aspiration drives us to maintain very high standards and expectations, which our students consistently meet. My aim as Headteacher is to create a school where young people can be happy, enjoy growing, and truly thrive.
Last week, seven former Haydon students were recognised with the prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Buckingham Palace, marking the culmination of years of commitment, resilience and personal growth. Congratulations to Fraser, Zakariya, James, Sienna, Giacomo, Isabelle and Scarlett on this outstanding achievement. The Gold Award is the highest level of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and requires participants to complete volunteering, physical and skills sections, undertake challenging expeditions, and make a residential contribution alongside young people they have never met before. Reaching this stage takes determination, perseverance and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. It was a truly inspiring day and a fitting celebration of everything these young people have achieved. While we were only able to photograph some of the award holders on the day, we are incredibly proud of all seven recipients and the journeys they have taken to reach this milestone. As they begin the next chapter of their lives, this achievement serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished through hard work, resilience and a belief in your own potential. Congratulations to all seven Gold Award holders. Haydon School is proud of you. #WeAreHaydon #GoldAwards #DofE @DofE
