Hot weather advice
Due to the exceptionally hot weather this week Mr Robson has decided that students need not wear blazers or ties. Please could parents ensure that their children bring bottled still water to school to drink. Empty bottles may be refilled in the canteen and in the quad at break and lunch where drinking water is available.Bottled water is also available for sale in the canteen and in the St Nick's vending machines. Please could parents remind their children that they should avoid being in direct sunlight for too long and that sun screen should be worn.

On behalf of the students, staff and governors I would like to welcome you to Haydon School’s new website. We have designed this website to meet the needs of parents and students both current and prospective. The site will continue to be developed over the coming months, but we would be happy to hear any feedback you may have as we move forward.
For those new to the school, Haydon is a Foundation School for students aged 11 - 18 years. We welcome students of all abilities and we seek the best from every student irrespective of ability. As it says in our Mission Statement and Aims, we are firmly committed to individual excellence, ensuring that all students fulfill their potential.
In June 2007 Haydon was inspected by Ofsted and we were delighted to be declared ‘Outstanding’ in every category.
We are proud of our school and were delighted when inspectors declared that ‘student achievement is outstanding at all key stages’. This is after all what we are here for and it is reassuring to have such a complete endorsement of our excellence from Ofsted. Part of the reason for this success is that Haydon is a happy school where staff and students respect each other. Ofsted noted the ‘particularly positive relationships between teachers and students ensure an excellent climate for learning’.
