GCSE Results

Haydon School is delighted to report unprecedented success in this year’s examination results earned by our Year 11 cohort.

Students at Haydon, across the ability range, have made excellent progress with many examples of high achievement. Today, our students are reaping the rewards of their immense efforts over the last five years. We would like to congratulate all of them, our dedicated staff and our community of families for their hard work. With all the pressures that emerge for our students, our Haydon community has once again risen to the challenge.

There have been great achievements in many areas. In English 92% of students achieved a level 4 (C grade equivalent) or above pass rate with 35% achieving a level 7-9 (A*-A equivalent). In Mathematics 89% of students achieved a level 4 or better pass with 33% achieving a level 7-9. Our GCSE Further Mathematicians also achieved phenomenal results with 95% achieving a level 7-9. Our science department continued to produce excellent results with 55% of students achieving a level 7 to 9 in Chemistry; 48% in Biology and 50 % in Physics.

We are incredibly proud of all our students. However, special congratulations need to be awarded to students who have shown consistent improvement and high levels of achievement throughout their time at Haydon; 19% of our students achieved an amazing 514 level 8 and 9 grades. Amongst these were our top performing students Nazar-Mira Bhasin, Harry Kilner, Luqmaan Shanaz and Maariyah Ali-Tewari.

Nazar-Mira Bhasin exceeded her projected data and achieved 9 level 9s and 1 level 8, she was ecstatically happy with her results and said “look what happens when your hard work pays off!”
We are delighted that Nazar-Mira will be staying on to join our Haydon Sixth Form to study Chemistry, Mathematics and English Literature. We would also like to congratulate Harry Kliner who achieved 8 level 9s and 2 level 8s, Harry will be studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics at A level. Maariyah Ali-Tewari made outstanding progress in her time at Haydon and is testament to what you can achieve with hard work. Maariyah achieved 6 level 9 and 4 level 8 grades with an average of 3 grades value added. Maariyah’s parents were very proud of their daughter and the school. She thanked all the staff at Haydon for their commitment and said ‘I have confidence in the teachers and they work very hard to ensure children do well…because of the amazing teachers we did not think about another school for A levels’. We are delighted that Maariyah will be returning to Haydon School to study Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry.

Mr Jones the Head teacher said “I am very proud of the results produced by our whole school community. Haydon School is a wonderful place to work and study and these achievements are testament to this. We know that the last six months have been a very challenging time for everyone and we are pleased that our students have still received an outstanding set of results which will ensure that they can move on to the next phase of their education and lives.”

As a school we are looking forward to the next academic year starting in a couple of weeks and welcoming students back to Haydon for what we are sure will be another successful year.
