Haydon School Alumni Evening

On 21 May 2019 we held our first Alumni Reunion at Haydon.

On 21 May 2019 we held our first Alumni Reunion. We had a range of speakers attend from a mixture of years. Sonali Shah a Television Presenter and a familiar face of BBC events was a keynote speaker who spoke about why she chose to come to Haydon Sixth Form and about her journey as a journalist

. Alongside this, we had talks from current long service staff members telling us about their memories of Haydon and the changes they have seen over the years. Alumni, Marc Broom – Director of Eastcote Cricket club spoke about his recent partnership with Haydon and his opportunity to give back to the school by helping us install our new indoor cricket facilities. He shared his memories of the ex-head teacher Mr Dobson and reiterated how Haydon gave him the opportunities to pursue his passion of cricket.

The event allowed us to engage with our Alumni network and show them the various opportunities to continue to stay in touch with the school, whether it be through mentoring or supporting our sixth formers to joining us as teaching staff. The attendees had the opportunity to tour the school and see some of our new developments and familiar areas.

Overall the attendees enjoyed the experience of reminiscing about the school and celebrating the success and achievements of Haydon. We hope to continue to keep in touch with our Alumni network through events like these.
