Chen Zhuang School, China
Year 8 pupils in the Gifted and Talented Mandarin class have written some very interesting letters in both Mandarin and English in response to the letters that we recently received. These have now been sent to China and we are eagerly awaiting responses from them. Pupils in this class are also working in short presentations and videos about Haydon School and their lives which we will post in a shared secure blog. This is particularly exciting as we will be able to share images and video with each other and hear what life is really like!
Two groups have previously sent descriptions of the view from a window to China as part of an art project and we have just heard that the pupils at Chen Zhuang school are busy producing their works of art based on what our pupils have written. We should soon receive similar texts from them which we can use to produce artwork. This will enable pupils in both countries to consider the physical environment near where they live and study and consider the impact that it has on their lives.
8E1 have produced some great brochures in both Italian and English about the local area. We plan to send these to our partner school in China so they can see the area surrounding Haydon, and also see what local attractions and activities are most important to Haydon pupils.
