Homework at Haydon School
At Haydon, we believe Homework is a vital aspect of pupils’ learning, and helps them make further progress. Feedback on homework may take the form of class discussion, peer, self or staff assessment. As you will be aware, failure to complete homework will lead to a detention being set for the following day. A detention will also be set for inadequate homework. If pupils need help with homework, they are encouraged to see their class teacher as soon as possible. Staff emails are also available via Fronter rooms, or via the school website (Staff Email List).
Pupils in years 7-11 will be set homework according to a homework timetable. All staff and students have a copy of this timetable, so you should therefore expect that homework is set in line with this timetable.
A copy of these are available on the left hand download section.
AFTERSCHOOL Homework Clubs
These are run by the Learning Mentor attached to each Year group. Pupils can attend to complete their homework, make use of ICT facilities, and get support for their homework from the Homework Staff. All homework clubs run from 3.00 – 4.15 Monday to Thursday, and 3.00 – 4.00 on a Friday.
