    Citi Savvy Insight Day

    On 6th of March, 5 Economics students travelled to Citi Bank in Canary Wharf after being selected to take part in the Citi Savvy Insight Day, in order to learn more about the world of investment banking and possible career paths. We first heard a speech from James Cowles, the CEO of Citi for Europe, in which he described how he ended up in investment banking and his work over the years. We did several team building and economics based activities with the other students and were then taken on a tour of the trading floor. This was our opportunity to see actual employees in action doing their job, which really put everything that had been said into perspective. After lunch, we took part in a careers 'carousel' and could ask different employees representing specific sectors within the bank questions. Next was our opportunity to present a potential solution for a scenario where a company was coming to us looking to expand and we had to provide methods of how they could raise funds and become a success.
