CURRENT JOB TITLE/COURSE, Welcome Team Host for The Royal Bank of Scotland
YEAR OF LEAVING, 2011
FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN HAYDON SCHOOL AND WHY? Throughout my time at Haydon, I was always quite fond on English – for a start I had a string of wonderful teachers, and actually it’s quite interesting to read books you wouldn’t normally even consider reading. I mainly enjoyed photography as it was something I worked hard to study - taking GCSE art just so I could take photography at A Level. It was also a subject I had always been passionate about in my personal time – but it meant I could learn so much more.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE SINCE LEAVING HAYDON SCHOOL? Since leaving Haydon, I attended college and achieved a high grade in a BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in Photography – which I was incredibly pleased with. Following that, despite my strong love for Photography, I joined the real world of work and have had various roles within the Royal Bank of Scotland – contracted to them by Mitie Client Services.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT IN LIFE AND HOW DID YOUR EXPERIENCE AT HAYDON SCHOOL HELP YOU TO ACHIEVE OTHER SUCCESSES? My biggest achievements have included some nominations for awards within my company – a great achievement in my eyes and also the result of my people skills and great appreciation from various people – including my managers.
WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO CURRENT STUDENTS? Haydon was a great school to attend – but it isn’t the only option – please, please, please – look around at other options – because I didn’t even realise that college was an option after GCSE.
WHAT’S YOUR NEXT BIG GOAL? I’m on my way up the career ladder and have my eyes on taking on a business support role.
